Sachit Ajmani Sachit Ajmani is a composer and pianist with an interdisciplinary practice. His work balances rigor and spontaneity, embracing the continuum between the precise and the improvised. He was commissioned by the Van Abbemuseum to write Impressions, a series of sonic reflections for four artworks including works by Mondriaan and Ernst from their 2021-2025 exhibit, “Dwarsverbanden”, in alignment with their philosophy on multisensory museum presentations. In May 2023, he will premiere his improvisatory soundscape, Street Scene, at a workshop to be held at Bureau Europa, Maastricht, in collaboration with Nader Adabnejad. Nader and Sachit also worked together for an improvised performance, women, life, freedom (2023), incorporating interviews, recordings of poetry, and speeches concerning women’s rights under oppressive regimes. Julia Warren Through songs, sounds, and spectacle, the international interdisciplinary collective expression of 3S-AMI-5A (pron. sami-yah) will sit you down, perform, and play with you. This is the latest collection of their “Ancient-Future-Adventure-Songs,” and is the first to be borne wholeheartedly onto a stage.

Their song-craft invokes well practiced disciplines in pan-american, european and middle-eastern musics, somatics, contemporary dance and performance art. Above and below it all, each performer is a masterful improvisor in their craft. As a spectator, you will receive the performance, knowing, but not knowing how, the theoretical has been precisely woven underneath it.

performance- en geluidskunstenaar in verschillende samenstellingen en solo. Voor ‘Get Ready for Takeoff”, de residentie die ik bij Intro In Situ doe, doe ik onderzoek naar het toneelstuk ‘De Blinden’ van de Belgische auteur Maurice Maeterlinck. In dit stuk probeert een groep blinde mensen de weg terug naar huis te vinden uit een bos, nadat hun gids hun heeft verlaten. Het is een heel sensitief stuk waarin je als toeschouwer eigenlijk net zo weinig weet als de blinde personages, en als geluidskunstenaar die vooral in het theater werkt, is de afhankelijkheid van het auditieve voor mij een heel interessant aspect van dit stuk. Deze tweede residentie bij Intro In Situ is een erg vruchtbare geweest, waarin ik een vervolgstap heb kunnen zetten in het ontwikkelen van een geluidsdecor voor dit stuk, in voorbereiding op mijn volgende residenties waarin ik met spelers zal gaan werken. De mogelijkheid om in dit theater in de AINSI aan de ene kant het geluids-decor en -ontwerp te ontwikkelen, en aan de andere kant veel tijd aan het bestuderen van de tekst te kunnen besteden is een hele mooie eerste stap naar het ontwikkelen van een avondvullende performance waarin dit stuk en dit geluidsdecor centraal staan.
